Google Ad Spending Lower, Adsense Earnings Decrease?

Google watches it’s stock sink with less advertising putting money down for advertisements. The after effect is that there will be less Google ad competition making it cheaper for advertisers to buy ads which in turn means adsense publishers will see their earnings go down.

Have I seen an Adsense Earning Decrease?

So far only slightly. Though I have been getting more traffic than ever, which in turn has made up for the lower earnings per thousand I have been receiving.

Google’s Lucky Cards

Google has released Google Android which of course uses Google as the main browser. Google also has Chrome which is now 1.5% of the browser market. With Google trying to control what it can, it just might be able to regain some of it’s stock value.

Keep in mind that as people earn less, they probably will blog less, so use this time to gain a larger share of the market. The economy will rebound at some point…

Make money with AdSense for Games

AdSense for Games, is in beta testing and allows video, image or text advertisements to placed at the start, end or change of level in an online game. Make money with Google AdSense technology that will work by insert of advertisements into online video games and boost revenue from the booming gaming sector.

The advertisers are charged on a cost-per-impression or cost-per-click basis with revenue being split between Google and game developers or publishers, it said in a statement.

Google is working with game makers including Konami Corp and Demand Media, run by former MySpace Chairman Richard Rosenblatt, as well as advertisers like Sprint Nextel Corp and Sony Corp's Sony Pictures.

How to increase your eCPM rates

If your website has adopted technology like AJAX or Flash then Pageless Tracking in Google Web Optimizer may help you. Internet marketers rely heavily on CPM metrics to structure advertising campaigns. Normal web analytic reports may not show all user activity on websites powered by heavy AJAX or Flash technology. When impressions & pageviews are no longer indicative of user interactivity, advertising rates can be misleading to both the advertiser and publisher. Only accurate tracking that include non-pageview activity and time-spent- on-site will help determine more fair CPM rates in future advertising deals. Being able to track pageless activity may help increase your CPM rates in future advertising deals. This new feature in Google Web Optimizer will surely help publishers increase their CPM (cost per thousand impressions) rates.

Google AdSense for Feeds not working for me

I got my Feedburner feeds migrated to AdSense last month and even blogged about making more money with Google AdSense for Feeds. However after reviewing this arrangement for a month, it appears that the AdSense is not making as much income as my FeedBurner feed was making. There are very few things to tweak in AdSense settings for Feeds.

I am planning to make a few adjustments given below and see if these techniques work in a month of review:

1- Move the ads before the post
2- Reduce the ads from every post to every other post
3- Change the colors on my own rather than letting Google decide it
4- Make the feed channel targetable to advertisers

I will keep everyone posted about my findings both good and bad about optimizing Google AdSense for Feeds. Stay tuned.

Blog Income Report for July 2008

Once again it’s time for a Blog Income Report. If I had to summarize this month in three words they would be “Need More Time!”

This month has definitely been testing my time and energy management skills. As you’ve seen in my income reports I’ve been taking on some Blog Promoting work which I really enjoy so a large portion of my time has been focused on that, along with the satellite blogs I’m building to expand my passive income.

Besides writing content, I haven’t had too much time to devote to socializing in terms of building traffic to the site, selling ads etc. so that’s something I’m definitely going to have to put more energy behind in August.

July was something of an accidental experiment for me. So much for “a great deal more posting” ! Although traffic to this blog is generally low, there was still enough to see whether or not frequent blogging actually matters, especially for a young blog.

Make more money with Google AdSense for Feeds

Google is the master of nifty new programs, I also find that I have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out exactly what they're doing, partially just because their programmers seem to know more about how to make my Web browser jump through hoops than anyone else on the Web!

Last week we were switched from FeedBurner's ad and feed delivery system to the new, more robust Google servers and the AdSense ad program for feeds. This is not a radically new technology but something that was readily acquired.

Well now that this is tightly integrated into AdSense, you can easily track your feed revenue all through your Google AdSense account page. Its really helpful for central account management. I wish they had the technology to also import my settings from Feedburner to AdSense. Hope Google is listening...

Google Base data API Keys

The Google Base data API is an extension of the GData API protocol, which you can use to create programs that interact with the Google Base servers. The API allows you to query for items and insert, update, and delete items in Google Base.

Blog Income Report for June 2008

June was something of an accidental experiment for me. So much for “a great deal more posting” ! Although traffic to this blog is generally low, there was still enough to see whether or not frequent blogging actually matters, especially for a young blog.

All this happened with only two posts and a total of 1,102 pageviews (a decrease from 1,312 in May) according to Google Analytics. That just goes to show that subscribers and frequent posting may not be as important as some may think. Instead, I suspect that content and search engine rankings are more important, and what I’m trying to do is capture the long tail of personal finance topics. I have monetized my blog in 20 different ways listed below.

Final Note to update AdSense to Google Login

Google has issued warning to link your Google AdSense account to a Google account. Google is now making it official. A reader says that he received an email saying that he will have to do it soon or else. His reason for not doing it beforehand is that it wasn't broken and it's just kind of pointless for Google to fix what ain't broke.

Meanwhile, in our previously mentioned blog, a few updates and clarifications have been made. First, Ashley from Google says that once your account is migrated, you will have to use that Google email address to log into your AdSense account. Second, she says that if you have another Google account that is not a login for your AdSense account, it can be deleted without disabling access to the AdSense account (but it will disable access to other services associated with that login).

Of note: one member is having difficulty performing the actual merge. Maybe it will still be a few weeks while Google irons out the technical problems with this. The discussion related to this technical issue is at Google Groups and additional forum discussion can be posted as comments to this post.

Major Traffic Loss from Google

This weekend I read about a thread reporting dozens and dozens of webmasters noticing a major traffic drop due to Google. Some of these webmasters reported traffic declines in the 90% range.

Many of the issues seem to be that Google has dropped hundreds or thousands of pages from these webmaster's sites. But it isn't only large sites.

There are several theories on which sites this may impact. I won't list them all, but if you were impacted, you might want to check out for similarities.

Again, this issue seem to have cropped up over the weekend and many webmasters seem to have been hit. This site did not notice a 90% reduction in traffic from Google, I have not looked at my other sites yet.

Make money with Senserely or get your account deleted

My account on Senserely Yours, has been deleted today. It is probably for a good reason, for example I haven't logged in for several days after my application had been accepted, which is for them a bad sign, they need active members in the community. Anyways I dont care as Senserely was generating pithy income.

Blog Income Report for May 2008

This month the sales went through the roof, an all time new record of $465.45 with tons of more ways to make money online I think i have successfully made blueverse grow really fast in a period of 5 months with really really little investment but I did invest alot of my time into the content and proper marketing.

This month’s revenue is what I’d like to call the new reach, I’ll try my best to beat this next month! I would like to give a few tips to all of ya’ll money bloggers out there, if you are looking to invest in your blog then get more content/reviews of your blog/authors and most of all get a theme that would allow you to sell as many ads as possible on the theme, now don’t limit yourself to ad sales, you should definitely go into services and products for that additional cash!
