Goosing Emergency Fund Earnings

I got a question about emergency funds I’d like to address:

Bank of America does not offer miles for opening an account, but it does offer up front miles for buying a Visa check/debit card for one of their accounts. The annual fee is $30. Each card gives only 1 mile per $2 spent, so using a mileage producing credit card when possible would probably always be better mileagewise. But the up front miles might be worthwhile, depending on how you value your miles. Each card has its own cap on the number of miles you can earn each year
