Adding a Blogskin to your blog

Recently some of the readers have been asking for help with putting a blogskin on their blog, I decided to post this up.

Here are the steps:

PART 1
1. Go to www.blogskins.com
2. Look around for blogskins
3. To test how a blogskin would look like on your blog, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Preview It" that is on your right side of the page.
4. Clicking that will lead you to a page where they show how the blogskin looks like.
5. When you are done looking at the blogskin, scroll to the top of the page and click on the link that says "Click Here" in the grey box.
6. If you like it, and want to use it for your blog, go to the same place where you found the word "Preview It" and this time, click on a box that says "Blogger Main".
7. A pop-up window/small window will appear. It will ask you if you would like to download/open a file from Blogskins.com
8. It should say "Open With 'NotePad'(default). If it doesn't, change it to open with 'NotePad'.
9. Then click "OK".
10. Later, they would say something like open "Notepad with a link or html?". Click on HTML.
11. They would show you some codes with numbers and all and some of it does not make sense.
12. Highlight all of it and copy it.

We have come to an end of Part 1 of Adding a blogskin to your blog. Let's go on to Part 2:

PART 2
13. Go to www.blogger.com
14. Log in to your account.
15. Click on "Layout" at the section where they out 'Manage: Posts, Settings, Layout.
16. After that, click on "Edit HTML".
17. After the page has loaded, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
18. You should something like this: "Revert to Classic Template". Click on that.
19. It will lead you to another page with a big box full of words, numbers and codes.
20. Highlight and delete everything in the box.
21. Now comes the hard part. Scroll down in the big HTML box, and look for certain features you must edit. Some blogskins might show these: 'Put you name here and other blahs blahs'; or 'Tagboard here'. These help you know which sections to edit.
22. When you are all done, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Save template changes".
23. When it is done, go view your blog. And that's it! You are all done! If you want to change blogskins, remember that you can always go back and change it if you want.

I hope you guys are satisfied AND thankful that I have put this up. Blog more later!
