How Do I Add Additional Websites to My Chitika Account

One easy way to increase your Chitika revenue is to place Chitika ads on all of your sites. But many of you are wondering:

How do I add my other sites to Chitika account?

Here is the answer: You don't have to! Since you are already approved as a Chitika publisher, you can use your Chitika code on any of your sites without notifying Chitika which sites you are running them on. Just grab your Chitika code, and "stick" it up on all of your sites.

Of course - you still are not able to run Chitika on any sites that violate our Terms (such as pornography, hate-speech, etc. - you can see the full list here).

Google's Android G-1 on T-Mobile hacked with a serious security problem

The first smartphone to run on Google's Android operating system -- T-Mobile's G-1 -- has run into newly identified security problems within a few days of going on sale nationwide. There is a flaw in the Web-browsing software that could be exploited. In this case, a hacker could divert the G-1 browser user to a rogue Web site. These attacks are similar to what unprotected computers' users face when they are connected to the Internet. The problem has already been addressed by Google software security experts. Google is working on a browser software patch for Android. T-Mobile is coordinating with Google on a plan to soon deliver this update over-the-air to customers' G-1 devices. For people currently using the phone, I hope this matter will not negatively impact the experience with the device.

Save Money On Gas Like This

One way to ensure you spend less money on gas is to buy less gas. Newer cars are supposedly more fuel efficient, but that doesn't mean your older car can't become more fuel efficient.

Have you changed your fuel filter recently? I know I'm over due to change mine (I have never changed it in all 80,000 miles I've put on my car) and I'm certain my fuel economy will rise once I change it. For example, I used to get 300-350 miles per tank of gas. These days, I get 250-300. My driving style hasn't changed much, and I keep the oil changed regularly.

Stay tuned for the results of this as soon as I get it done! My guess is a new fuel filter will lead to better fuel economy which means I can drive the same distance, but will need to buy less gas to do it.

Get Money If Air Ticket Price Changes

Yapta is a new service that tracks the price of your already purchased airline tickets. There's an unpublicized rule with the airline carriers that says if your existing ticket can be bought for a lower price, you are entitled to money back. Yapta will monitor your airline reservations through services like Expedia or Travelocity and then notify you if it finds the reservation price has dropped. It's then up to you to contact the airlines.

Track Local Gas Prices With iGoogle

Google is a personalized Google homepage to monitor news, information, RSS feeds, and more. Add the Local Gas Prices gadget to quickly see an overview of gas prices in your zip code. I had the gadget added and tested-out in under a minute and it's definitely worth a try.

To use iGoogle, you can use an existing GMail account or create a new iGoogle account.

Young Pros! Check-out LinkedIn

For those of you young professionals trying to network, check-out LinkedIn. It's a great place to find associates from old jobs, and perhaps new associates in new jobs. Think of it like a myspace or facebook for the professional world.

I joined LinkedIn a couple years ago, but didn't start building my network until last year. It's a good way to find people from high school, college, and old jobs who are skilled and are great connections. Perhaps you work somewhere who needs people, or you're a skilled professional looking for a new position. LinkedIn has places to search for jobs being offered by people in your extended network and also gives people a way to give and receive personal recommendations. This is a great way to keep building your personal and professional network.

LinkedIn is also accessible on the iPhone.

NASDAQ quotes go real-time on Google Finance

Google has partnered with NASDAQ for the pilot program in order to offer users free access to real-time stock quotes.

It's important to have up-to-date market data. It's equally important that that data stay up to date. Consequently, enabling the streaming of quotes across Google Finance is a great feature. Prices will update automatically, once per second, to reflect current market conditions.

I believe providing real-time stock quotes is an important step to allow investors to make more timely and better informed investment decisions. From Wall Street to Main Street, everyone deserves equal access to the financial markets.

Free Online MP3 Player

Have you ever tried to put on a MP3 player on your website? Or do you plan to put one? I had been doing a project for one client where he needed me to put on a MP3 player on his website for his users to listen to the songs they upload to their private profile.

I checked out many flash MP3 players but most of them were lacking some features and some had more features then I needed for making it simple yet working and appealing for users.

Then I found the Free Flash MP3 Player at e-phonic.com

It was free for use and even the registered version was available for a small fee.

Some of the features were like loading a playlist as well as a single file for playing in the player, Visualization effects, Skinnable player using XML skins and could be controlled by Javascript too.

Comes with 4 nice skins and examples on how to integrate it and for more help there is always an online documentation.

Would you Dragon or God Speed your blogging speed ?

Today I will share with you the trick that I learned on how to God Speed your blogging speed.

Here is another great video review by Lisa, who coincidently writes the blog Lisa Reviews. She writes about how she can write at 150 words per minute with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

I think one of the key takeaways from her video, the key insight that is, is that she is able to write a lot more in those spare moments of time that she has while she's doing other things. Sometimes it's great to multitask, but it's even more important to be able to accomplish useful goals in those spare two or three or four minute pockets of time that we all experience throughout the day.

With Dragon NaturallySpeaking a four minute pocket of time can translate into 600 words! That could be three or four e-mails or one or two long blog articles if you're a blogger like Lisa.
Slick

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard

For just $99 you can get started with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and have it trained in running in about seven minutes. The software with version 10 is simply amazing.

I have been writing about Dragon NaturallySpeaking for almost 2 years now. I have been able to type at 150 words per minute for $99 with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. That speed was clocked while I was taking a typing test, but even in practical situations when I factor in not only the time it takes to type, but the time that it also takes to edit the words I typed, the end result is that I can still achieve about 100 words a minute, INCLUDING editing time! J

That is extremely fast, and the inclusion of editing time, speaks to the advances that you can see in version 10 as compared to older versions such as version 8 or version 9. It's a lot easier to edit on the fly with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.

So if you're looking for a practical tool for your home office, for your writing or blog work, or even just to keep up with e-mail in your spare time, Dragon NaturallySpeaking can give you the power to write at 150 words a minute for a price that starts at $99. Heck, I think I paid that much almost for my last keyboard so that I wouldn't pound my fingers to death. :-)

Sincerely,
Brett Bumeter
Softduit Media
www.softduit.com
PS this article includes about 376 words that I wrote with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. It took me about 3 1/2 minutes to write and edit this article, which is just a little bit better than 100 words per minute and that includes editing time.

Why I wouldnt buy Honda’s FCX Clarity hydrogen car

The zero Emission Sedan of the future is a reality today with its zero emissions and domestic fuel and helps slow increase in greenhouse gases. It is fun to drive and yet smooth and powerful with groundbreaking new fuel cell stack. And its also built with unyielding safety of Six airbags and Vehicle Stability Assist ™ (VSA®) along with Collision Mitigation Braking System ™ (CMBS™). The Honda FCX Clarity debuted in July, and the automaker is leasing about 200 of the cars to customers in Southern California during the next three years. Tens of thousands of car enthusiasts have applied to be among the first to lease.

Yet I wouldn't buy this marvel car due to the reasons below:

* The lack of fueling stations will limit the reach of these vehicles for many years
* No traditional gear selector
* Small electronic shifter near the steering wheel that was awkward to use
* The rear window seemed to limit visibility.
* Some analysts have estimated it would cost $200,000

The Clarity, and any hydrogen fuel cell for that matter, has plenty of question marks and hurdles. But it gives us a sense of what lies ahead.

Xohm delivers WiMax 4G speed in Baltimore

It was in the Italian Job, a Hollywood action flick starring Charlize Theron, who was streaming live to a laptop computer. Speed: about 3 megabits a second. Sprint is about to find out. Baltimore recently became the first city in the USA to go live with WiMax. Short for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, WiMax is a fourth-generation (4G) wireless technology that can turn whole cities into one big hot spot. Sprint has an even grander vision: It wants to turn the entire USA into a mobile surfing zone. The mobile data network is designed to cater to the needs of mobile laptop users, not cellphone users, for a fee. Because the speeds are so fast — 10 megabits or better, potentially — it could easily be used as a replacement for DSL or cable modem service in the home and office. The service is currently marketed as "Xohm," Sprint's WiMax brand name. That will probably change after the Sprint/Clearwire merger closes.

Enticing SEO plugin from Entrecard - U Drop I Follow

Entrecard has released the U Drop I Follow plugin. This plugin will display your Entrecard widget along with one of the U Drop I Follow badges. The plugin is still in BETA stages but with all the new features it will evolve into a great plugin for everyone. I also hope they will soon have a system in place in which the U Drop I Follow system really does give real droppers a reward for dropping back. With Entrecards new API they should soon have a system where the top droppers get added to the top of the drop list and the lesser droppers get put further down. This system would be still new and may be a while away from being used… But I do hope they will soon have a new sign up form that will help build this. Please download and vote for this plugin here:

Passport needed to buy mobile phone

Everyone who buys a mobile telephone will be forced to register their identity on a national database under government plans to extend massively the powers of state surveillance.

Phone buyers would have to present a passport or other official form of identification at the point of purchase. Privacy campaigners fear it marks the latest government move to create a surveillance society.

AdSense Ads Optimized for Chrome

I had noticed on Chrome broswer, Google now takes into account the “landing page” that the ad links to, and, for example, gives low grades to pages whose sole purpose is to show more ads. Google might just be testing these, but these efforts are starting to get noticed. Instead of a regular text ad, Google served up the search box at left, inviting people to search for specific ads. In effect, Google is saying, “We are not 100% sure what ads you’d like to see, so why don’t you just tell us?” An ad-only search box is a departure from Google’s past policy of showing the most relevant results, with ads on the side. Although it is clearly labeled, some people might still confuse the AdSense search box with a regular Web search box. Others might find it more helpful than the regular text ad links.

Windows Mobile on your iPhone

Call it what you will: immoral, unethical, unholy—it appears that a Norwegian developer by the name of Erik Kristiansen has actually managed to pull off Windows Mobile running on an iPhone. The video of the OS is booting on a 3G is convincing enough, but the extremely bizarre exchange between this “reporter” and Kristiansen at the myPhone2008 conference is enough to bring its validity into question. We shall find out soon enough—Kristainsen claims that the hack is currently in beta with a January release in the works.

Cheapest parking rates in USA

Last time I was at Sycamore, IL, I had noticed that there's at least one place left where it costs just a penny to feed a parking meter.

Welcome to Sycamore, a town of 16,000 in north-central Illinois where parking costs just a penny for 12 minutes. They have the cheapest meters in the U.S. at a penny, nickel, dime.

Officials say a nickel buys an hour of parking time and a dime two hours.

Got a quarter. That gets a whopping 12 hours.

But watch out if the meter expires. And they are the cheapest fine at a quarter, and at a dollar, I still can't find anyone cheaper.

Last month, Sycamore city council voted to quadruple the parking fine for unpaid meters.

It's now a dollar, up from 25 cents.

Here is some more mind-boggling info on Sycamore from the net (not sure how far this is true):
The town is so small that two blocks off the main drag and you are in plowed fields. Their idea of a 4th of July celebration is 4 kids running around the park with sparklers. The motel for one night costs $5.00 and that didn't include breakfast. They still have a village idiot. Some day they might even get big enough for a McDonalds. The local theater is open in the summer and only on weekends. Admission is a nickel, you bring your own chairs and the movie screen is the side of a barn that has been painted white. The local kids still go out sparking on lover's lane when the sheriff is at the movie. Do you realize the 3rd largest city in Illinois is only about 10,000 people and Sycamore doesn't even make the top 1,000 list. So for a fun place to visit this summer go to Sycamore,Il. Living there is cheap. All you have to do is get away from O'hare airport and so west. When you think you are in the middle of nowhere keep going.

Does Mayan calendar predict a Dec 21, 2012 apocalypse?

Since November, at least three new books on 2012 have arrived in mainstream bookstores. A fourth is due this fall. Each arrives in the wake of the 2006 success of 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, which has been selling thousands of copies a month since its release in May and counts more than 40,000 in print. The books also build on popular interest in the Maya, fueled in part by Mel Gibson's December 2006 film about Mayan civilization, Apocalpyto.

Part of the 2012 mystique stems from the stars. On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years. This means that whatever energy typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will indeed be disrupted on 12/21/12 at 11:11 p.m. Universal Time.

How to create iTunes account without credit card

As part of one of the steps to get cracked iPhone apps for iPhone or iPod Touch, you need to download a app from the App Store. The problem is you don't have a credit card in order to creat a iTunes account. Or, maybe the App you want isn’t available in your country’s store. This guide will let you create a free account for any country the iTunes store runs in.

1. First of all – select the iTunes store in which you’d like to have an account. You can use the store selector towards the bottom of the iTunes store homepage.

2. When the front page loads up for your desired country – go and click on the top app from the “Top Free App” section.

3. When the app page loads, hit the ‘Get App’ button.

4. The login prompt will appear – click on ‘Create New Account’

5. Click Continue, then tick the “I Accept” box, and click Continue again

6. Fill out your details on the next page (you’ll need a real, valid email address), and click continue

7. And now, here is where it gets interesting. If you have followed each of the previous steps, you should now have a ‘None’ option as a payment method. Select that ;)

8. After that, fill out your details. If you don’t live in the country you’re creating the account in, make up an address. (Like say, for example, one of Apple’s Retail Store locations if they have some in that country. – http://apple.com/retail ), then click Continue

9. You will now see a message telling you to click on the confirmation link sent to the email you supplied earlier; it looks a little like this;

Then check your email inbox (or spam folder), open the email and click the confirmation link

10. iTunes will pop up, and here you’ll enter your brand new iTunes account details.

11. If all goes to plan, you will be greeted with a congratulations page.

12. You’re done! You can now download free music (namely the ‘Free Single Of The Week’), as well as some free TV shows in some stores, and all the free apps that are available to you in the App Store

Wait… why couldn’t I just create an account without going to the app store first?

If you try and create an account straight from the log on box/when you purchase some music, you will be missing the ‘None’ option from Step 7.

Can I fill out my credit card details for another country’s store?
Not unless it was issued in the country that you’re trying to add it to – iTunes will verify the location of where the card was issued. So, for example, you couldn’t use an Australian Visa card in the United States store.

DON’T EVER GIVE UP. Make blogging like taking a shower everyday. Stay proactive and clean and you’ll figure it out. There’s so much information out there and resources. Read all you can!

I’d say these are pretty impressive statistics considering the amount of actual work that went into this blog. I spent maybe two hours at most working on this, though it did constantly occupy my thoughts. Stay at it. Learn more. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Content is King. Remember that blogging as a business is business. It takes business training and skills to make money with your blog. That’s it. That’s the secret. John Chow, Guy Kawawasaki, Darren Rowse, Seth Godin, these princes of blogging didn’t get rich with their blogs by just having blogs!

Halloween for Wall Street guys

Well, for personal finance bloggers, the Halloween has already started on Wall Street and on the news today someone had laid out graves of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Wall Street in their backyard. Apart from graves, you can find your favorite Halloween costume at the Halloween Costume Stores. It's almost here and I have a plan on dressing up as witch and appearing on the Jim Cramer's Mad Money show. I will buy the Five Alarm Fire Girl Halloween Costume which is on sale for $33.99 down from its original price of $45.99. This Five Alarm Fire Girl costume includes a hat, choker, top, shorts, gloves and boot tops. The blonde on the website really looks attractive in that witch costume. Maybe that way I will get a nationwide popularity for my blog. Jim does like blonde witches so he should happily invite me on his show. I would also go door to door online i.e. blog to blog and scare away the fellow finance bloggers. I started my blog just last year before the Halloween 2007 and had some scary blogger pictures. Here is that post from last Halloween. Its not my picture but its real scary to boo away all the finance bloggers. Halloweenadventure.com also offers Free Economy Shipping witch through FedEx Smartpost (USPS). Just spend a little over $60 and get free economy shipping, but remember this witchy promotion ends October 10th. There are also some exciting promotional discounts like 10% off Boo-Bucks on any regularly priced item. So hurry up and get your Halloween shopping done now, before Wall Street becomes Main Street.
