New iPad 3 serious bug with 4G LTE sucks up your data usage limits very quickly
Is the new iPad too hot to handle and burns your lap ? Or you should be scared of its new bandwidth hogging feature injected with 4G ? I just got my new iPad 3 and in less than 4 hours after purchasing the Bell Wireless version of the iPad + 4G — and choosing a $30, 2GB monthly data plan from Bell — I was shocked by the notification on my iPad's screen: "There is no data remaining on your current plan." This is ridiculous. Well I was just downloading new apps on it and my Wi-Fi connection dropped so the iPad switched to the 4G mode and sucked up all my data. This can cost a lot to everyone. In order to be cautious of the bandwidth eating capabilities of new iPad, I suggest keeping a keen eye on what you are doing when the Wi-Fi is lost. Now my remaining options for the month included changing to a $50 5GB data plan or an $80 10GB plan. (Telus offers a 250MB plan for $14.99; 3GB for $30; and 5GB for $50.)
I suggest that you simply turn off Cellular Data within Settings when you don't need it. Also they have provided a good feature that comes in handy in order to make sure you won't get hit by cellular charges- you got the option to shut down LTE!

Things to do before canceling a credit card
If you are considering cancelling a card because you don't want to pay the annual fee that is about to become due, you may be able to reduce or avoid the fee, or get a worthwhile number of miles for paying it, or get some other good offer.
Most miles and points programs will cancel all of your miles or points if you do not have activity on your account for a certain period of time (usually 1½ - 3 years), and the trend is that this time period is getting shorter. So, charge something on the card so that it will post on the last statement before you close the account, thus giving you activity on your miles or points account as late as possible.
Before the fee is posted on the account, call customer service to see if you can wait until you see the fee on your bill before you decide to pay it. Most credit card companies will allow you to cancel the card and will refund the fee within 30 or so days of its posting. Find out that time limit. I call about 10 months after receiving the card, as sometimes I am offered a multiple miles/$1 spent for a month or so, just for keeping the card. Then I cancel it anyway.
If you can wait for the fee to post, do so, and call to cancel just before your deadline. By that time miles for renewal may have been sent to your airline, and may not be retrieved if you cancel.
Call the customer service number and tell them you do not want to pay the fee. They will send you to a special unit that will try to convince you to keep the card. Be politely insistent that you will not pay the fee. Wait for the offer you want - miles and/or no fee. Expect to be offered a not very useful free card that offers 1 mile per $2 spent. Refuse this, telling them that you can get a free card with 1 mile per $1 spent. (Be ready with the names of some, which you can find on my Free Cards Page. The Starwood card is always a good one to mention.) Your success will depend on how valuable a customer they think you are. Don't bluff. Be prepared to allow the card to be cancelled if you don't get what you want.
For many cards, it is possible to cancel them, wait awhile, then get them again, with the up front bonus again.
Beware of the new banking scam
According to Bankrate, Some crafty criminals are aiming to steal one of the most valuable pieces of your personal property: your banking information. In a new warning, the Federal Bureau of Investigation warns account holders of a new spam email scheme that involves a type of malware called "Gameover." The scheme involves fake emails from the National Automated Clearing House Association, the Federal Reserve or the FDIC. These messages attempt to trick recipients into clicking on a link to resolve some type of issue with their accounts or a recent ACH transaction. Once you click on the link, Gameover takes over your computer, and thieves can steal usernames, passwords and your money. The FBI also warns the thieves' hacking capabilities can navigate around common user authentication methods banks use to verify your identity, which is certainly a cause for concern. Those additional authentication steps -- often personal questions, birth dates or other pieces of private information -- are meant to provide some extra security padding. While phishing scams are nothing new to the world of online banking, this type of warning serves as a reminder of just how susceptible account holders can be to malicious attacks. As more account holders begin to jump on the mobile banking bandwagon, it's important to remember that a smartphone essentially acts as another computer. While this additional connection to the Internet is convenient, it also serves as another outlet where your information can be compromised. Here are a few crucial steps to take to avoid falling victim to this type of Internet crime. Keep your computer and mobile device updated with the newest versions of anti-virus software. If you have any doubts about an email sender's authenticity, do not click on any embedded links. Remember, banks never request any personal information via email. Be vigilant about checking your account balances. The sooner you notice and report any type of fraudulent activity, the more likely you'll be able to be reimbursed for any missing funds. You can save up to $5,000 every year in TFSA. Limits are going to be indexed to inflation in $500 increments, so watch for increases in limits over time. You can have as many TFSAs as you wish, but the $5,000 contribution limit applies across all accounts. Note that Contributions are NOT tax deductible but all the income earned inside a TFSA is earned tax-free. Moreover If you can’t save $5,000 this year, your contribution room can be carried forward to future years. So if you can only stick $2K in for 2012, in 2013 your limit will be $8,000 ($5K for 2013 and $3K carried forward from 2012). One must remember he can take money out of TFSA at any time for any purpose, without losing the contribution room. HOWEVER if you take money out in one year, you CANNOT put it back until the following year. You can hold any investment you can buy for your RRSP inside your TFSA, including stocks, bonds, GIC, and mutual funds. You can, and should, make a beneficiary designation (everywhere in Canada except Quebec) on your TFSA to avoid probate costs. You can contribute to your spouse’s TFSA without affecting your own contribution limits and without any tax attribution. Follow the rules carefully, especially the one about taking money out of a TFSA and then putting it back in. If you try to return money to your plan too soon and you’ve already reached your limit for the year you’ll be hit with an over-contribution penalty

Now they’re willing to part with far less: As of Saturday morning, if you’ve got a well-cared-for iPad 2, NextWorth will give you $241 for it. BuyBackMac is offering $224. eBay’s Instant Sale will net you $200. And Gazelle, the most popular of the buy-back sites, will only part with $185.
Sure, if you’re hurting for cash to subsidize your early adopter lifestyle, $200 is nothing to scoff at. But if I were you, I’d skip by all of these sites and instead log in to Amazon. As of right now, its trade-in service is offering $288 for a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad 2 that has “normal wear,” and up to $320 for one in “like new” condition. Indeed, Amazon Trade-In’s lowest offer for an iPad 2 is $236, about what others are offering for “good” models. If your tablet isn’t water-damaged and is at least in working condition, you’ll get that baseline amount.
What’s going on here? Considering that Apple is selling new iPad 2s for $399, how can Amazon afford to shell out up to $320 for your old one? What’s it doing with all the iPads it’s buying? Is Jeff Bezos running a charity?
