Relaxing with Blogger Draft
Have you tried out Blogger in draft, Blogger’s experimental features site, recently? Blogger in draft is a version of Blogger with features we’re trying out before we “publish” them to everybody on the main site. (See our original announcement: “Blogger... in draft.”)
If you’re feeling adventurous, all you need to do to try it out is log in to draft.blogger.com instead of www.blogger.com. If you see the blueprint logo then you’re in the right place.
Our two latest features, which you can try out now on draft.blogger.com, are:
- Scheduled Post Publishing If you write a post on Blogger in draft and set the post’s date and time to some time in the future, we’ll schedule the post to appear on your blog at that time, and not before.
- Blog List Add a blogroll to your blog’s sidebar. The Blog List is powered by Google Reader, so it can show when each blog was last updated and even include post titles and snippets.
We have other page elements on draft, too:
- Help your readers subscribe to your blog in their favorite feed reader with the Feed Subscription page element.
- Add any of the thousands of Google Gadgets to your blog’s sidebar with our Google Gadget support.
- Search over your blog, your Link Lists, or all the pages you’ve ever linked to with the Search Box.

Claims that Boost Your Insurance Rates
I think everyone knows that certain insurance claims have a tendency to increase your premium. What are they? Here's a list from Bankrate on a few claims that will increase your homeowners insurance:
Bowen says that making two claims in a three-year period is more likely to trigger a hike, although each company is different.
Dog bites. A single attack is often likely to result in higher premiums.
Water damage. Water damage tends to set off a barrage of red lights for insurers, largely because of the costs of eliminating mold.
Slip-and-fall claims. Slip-and-fall injuries, according to the National Safety Council, are the single largest cause of emergency room visits. If someone hurts themselves on your property and files a claim with their insurance company, your rates may rise.
And here's what can raise your car insurance rates:
Factors that may be considered include whether you were driving while drunk, whether injuries incurred, and the severity and type of accident.
The piece advises only filing a claim when it's a major one. Here's the rationale they use in saying so:
It gets back to the notion of what insurance is all about: bailing you out from a large disaster, rather than the small things that annoy rather than harm.
A few thoughts from this on me:
1. I agree with them 100% on when to file a claim. If we have any minor damage, we always pay for it ourselves. Insurance claims are for major (over $2,000 for us) damage.
2. As such, we've raised our deductibles as high as possible. Doing so saves us a ton of money on our insurance premiums.
3. If you decide to do this as well, be sure to up your emergency fund so you have enough to cover the deductible in case a major accident occurs.
4. Just another expense of having a dog. Sorry, I couldn't help but throw that one in. ;-)

Make money with x-ray technician job
Did you know the hospital in your community might suffer from a shortage of trained radiographers, more commonly known as x-ray technician?
It's true: the medical field needs more trained x-ray technician now. Demand for various kinds of radiologic technologists, including x-ray techs, is escalating with the aging of the baby-boomer population and rapid advances in diagnostic imaging.
That means career opportunities for graduates of x-ray technician schools are surging at hospitals, physician offices, diagnostic imaging facilities, and other outpatient facilities.
Employment of licensed radiographers, trained at x-ray tech schools, is expected to increase by more than 20 percent through 2012, reports the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Salary and benefit packages also should continue to improve as employers seek to retain qualified radiographers, particularly those with specializations in mamography, computed tomography (CT scan), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Today's median salary for x-ray technicians is more than $50,000, according to the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians.
Earn a competitive salary and play a valuable role in the health of your community; attend one of the nation's respected x-ray technician schools and earn your radiographer certificate or degree

How to make money in Recession
For investors, the initial shock is starting to wear off after stock markets plunged and fears of a recession spiked over the New Year. What remains is a feeling of nervousness, because subsequent events have done nothing to ease the economic uncertainty that sent stocks dropping in January and February.
The U.S. stock market and economy face a period of heightened uncertainty, with an economic recovery, slowdown, and deep recession all possible paths ahead. This situation of U.S Market is crucial affecting Indian Market. How should investors react to these troubling times? Here are five tips designed to ease nervousness and prepare you for whatever 2008 brings:
1. Don't get nervous by the uncertainty.
You don't know where the economy or stock market is going, but relax. No one else knows either.
Though almost everyone predicts a slowdown early in 2008, many Wall Street players, including Goldman Sachs, predict a full-blown recession, while Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and others believe the U.S. will avoid that fate.
The bottom line: Trying to bet where the market will go in long term is a fool's task. It's better to focus on time-tested strategies, such as buying stocks which are having strong fundamentals and industry having strong bottom-line.
2. If you trade stocks, be careful how you do it.
The volatility in the stock market these days opens up a major trap for individual investors: Few amateurs can react to news as quickly as the professionals.
One strategy for supposedly dealing with this is limit orders, which allow investors to buy or sell when stocks hit a certain level. But a study recently showed the use of limit orders actually hurts investor returns. Why? When unexpected news breaks on a stock, investors with pre-placed limit orders get a bad deal, because they're often the only orders in the market willing to buy at high prices or sell at low prices that don't reflect the new information.
The bottom line: If you're not a well-informed investor, a volatile market can put you at a distinct disadvantage when you trade stocks.
3. Diversify, and go international.
Most investment advisers say Americans and many other country people including India don't invest enough of their stock portfolios overseas. Investors can get more reward for less risk in a portfolio spread among many different asset classes, including international and domestic stocks, bonds, cash, commodities, and alternative investment strategies.
One warning: Don't get too fancy. Sophisticated players lost big in the past year's sub prime financial crisis, and one reason is that they bought complex investments they didn't understand. If you can't explain an investment in a sentence or two, it might not be right for you.
4. Defensive moves might help you relax, but they'll probably hurt your returns.
Stock pickers advertise many strategies for riding out a recession. In theory, sectors including health care or defense will be relatively unfazed by a recession.
Large, international firms are popular these days because so much of their profits come from strong growth overseas.
Chasing these safer bets is a great idea if it helps you sleep better at night. But investors should understand that by reducing their risk, they may also be hurting their return over the long term. A defense stock might hold value in a poor economy
5. Make sure you have enough cash.
The stock market is a great place to make money over the long term. It has a great record of building fortunes after decades of saving and investing. If you're a long-term investor, you don't need to care where the market is right now. Rather, you should care about where stock prices will be five years, 10 years, or more into the future. Right?
The flip side of this advice, however, is that everyone needs a financial cushion for now, just in case. If a major expense hits during a bear market, you don't want to sell your stocks at a loss. That's why all financial advisers say you should keep a substantial amount of cash on hand, probably in money-market funds. How much depends on a variety of factors including the security of your job, your cost of living, and your appetite for risk.
The essential thing to remember is that the economy and market move in cycles, and a steady, sensible approach will carry your portfolio through good times and bad.

Earn "6 Times" More With Your AdSense Very Easily
Many might have said this and many of you are using this trick too, but for those who still did not gave it a try and think that Google AdSense does not pay well, read on and DO TRY IT!
The publishers bid in Google AdWords to get to the top in your blog pages where Ad Units are displayed. The theory is simple. The one who pays out more has more chances to be displayed at the top in the pages running ads. So the first Ad unit in your blog page will display the advertisers which pay the highest for clicks, the second Ad unit pays out lesser than the first and so on.
So what I want to suggest you here is to "use only one ad unit" in your blog page. Yes! I used to have two ad units in my pages. One below the header (728x15) and other below the heading of the article (300x200). Now all the Ads which were relevant to the article I published were displayed in the 728x15 Ad unit and other Ad units would publish non-relevant Ads. I removed the 728x15 Ad unit and "for the same number of clicks and visits" my AdSense earnings were raised by 6 times than the initial earnings!
So do this experiment right away. Use just one Ad unit in your page and I can assure you that you will be payed more for clicks than what you are being payed.
And if you are not using AdSense then do me a favor and click on the referral link below the video unit on the right side of my site and register for AdSense and start earning dollars.

Blog Income Report for Mar 2008
Another month has passed pretty quickly and it is time to report my earnings.
For my past earnings, here are the links:
Feb 2008 earnings of $320.30
Jan 2008 earnings of $343.63
Dec 2007 earnings of $115.33
Nov 2007 earnings of $124.07
Oct 2007 earnings of $111.75
I’m still trying to get a little bit more diversity into my earnings with the goal that my AdSense earnings jump 50% while keeping the money earned stable. I think I will have to test a few schemes and get rid of some that do not make that much sense anymore. I have monetized my blog in 19 different ways listed below.
So lets get down to the figures of this month!
Here is my blog income report for Mar 2008:
1. SponsoredReviews.com Earnings: $15
2. Google AdSense Earnings: $103.86
3. A.W.Surveys Earnings: $47
4. AuctionAds / ShoppingAds Earnings: $25
5. WidgetBucks Earnings: $25
6. Smorty Blog Advertising Earnings: $0
7. Buxr Earnings: $10
8. Kontera ContentLink(TM) Earnings: $28.80
9. Helium Earnings: $9.53
10. Blogsvertise Earnings: $4
11. PayPerPost Earnings: $5
12. Fusion Cash Earnings: $5
13. BidVertiser Earnings: $3.78
14. AdBrite Earnings: $1.08
15. Pheedo Feed Advertising Earnings: $0.22
16. Voxant Newsroom Earnings: $0.13
17. Shareapic.net Earnings: $0.1
18. Hubpages Earnings: $0.04
19. Valued Opinions Earnings: $13
Total Blog Income Report for Mar 2008: $296.54
As mentioned earlier I want to concentrate on direct ad sales as well because this is something that I have been neglecting for a very long time. The stats from last month showed for instance that both Evertons and John Chows direct ad sales made up 9.11% and 11.45% of their total earnings while mine remained at 0.33%.
To sum up my plans for Apr 2008:
+ Focus on direct ad sales
+ Remove AdSense Search and install a better search
+ Get rid of Feedburner Ads in Feeds
+ Try out some selected affiliate programs to diversify my income
+ Add Bloggerwave blogging platform to my monetization list. Bloggerwave is aiming to be Europe's biggest advertsing media on blogs.
Click here to signup these 19 money making programs for your Blog and earn upto $5,000 from referrals and advertising.
How was Mar 2008 for you ? May the next month be more profitable for everyone of you out there as well!
